Housekeeper

Housekeepers at The Kenworthy School are community builders and keepers, essential members of the school family. They partner with the faculty, administration, and other staff members helping to maintain a clean and safe school family environment.

The Housekeeper is important in helping create a school setting that is comfortable and sanitized, free from germs and contaminates. The housekeeper is high energy, friendly, self motivated, detail oriented with proven abilities in cleaning, organization and initiative. The Housekeeper is flexible in response to changing assignments and interruptions to routine in a dynamic school family.

The Housekeeper’s behavior and language suggests that (s)he enjoys being a helpful partner in the care and education of young children and desires to support their environment.

Director of Food Services

The Director of Food Services is responsible for providing age appropriate food and nutrition to all members of the school family. This is a community nurturer and keeper, an essential member of the school family who partners with other kitchen personnel, the faculty and other staff members to meet and exceed the minimum standards for food in a preschool setting. (S)he is a good leader and is skilled at sharing responsibilities with others in a well managed and comfortable style in an effort to accomplish the responsibilities of the position.

The Director of Food Services is high energy, friendly, self motivated, creative, detail oriented, with proven abilities in planning, cooking, and cleaning a kitchen serving large numbers with specific criteria for food variety and a specified budget. This individual is skilled at organizing and maintaining a clean, sanitized kitchen and food storage area that is in compliance with all Health and Fire Department standards.

The Director of Food Services is essential to a successful Concierge Food Service that offers food to families on a regular basis. Preparation and distribution of these meals is an essential part of the responsibilities given to the kitchen staff.

The Director of Food Services is frequently called upon to positively represent The Kenworthy School and to interact in a helpful manner with Licensing Representatives, fire and health inspectors and other municipal officials who support care and safety in Houston preschools.

Cook

The cook shares responsibility for providing age appropriate food and nutrition to all members of the school family. This is a community nurturer and keeper, an essential member of the school family who partners with other kitchen personnel, the faculty and other staff members to meet and exceed the minimum standards for food in a preschool setting. (S)he is a team player and is skilled at sharing responsibilities with others.

The Director of Food Services is high energy, friendly, self motivated, creative, detail oriented, with proven abilities in planning, cooking, and cleaning a kitchen serving large numbers with specific criteria for food variety and a specified budget. Education Requirement for Staff Positions

  • High School Diploma or GED

Minimum Experience for Staff Positions

  • Evidence of successful experience in position of interest

Schedule for Staff Positions

  • Full time staff members work an eight hour day with leave time, paid holidays as detailed in the the Staff Agreement (Contract).
  • Part time staff members work less than eight hours each day with leave time, paid holidays as detailed in the Staff Agreement (Contract).

Compensation

Compensation including options for insurance and preschool tuition are paid according to the Staff Compensation Agreement (Contract) and is based on successful related experience.

Kenworthy Staff Position Requirements

All Kenworthy School faculty and staff must meet the following:

  • Meet all requirements of the DFPS of the State of Texas
  • Red Cross and CPR Certification
  • Preservice Training and 24 Annual Hours Training in position related information
